The method involves modifying a signal transmitted from a transmitter (1) by a receiving unit (5). An output of the transmitter is monitored by the transmitter and the signal modification is detected by the transmitter at its output. Information transmitted by the receiving unit is identified by the evaluation of the modified signal. The transmitter signal is subjected with a pulse, which is detected at the output.
