The guide rail (10) has a rail section (30) for guiding a carriage (16), which is engaged with the windowpane. A groove section (32) is provided for guiding the edge of the windowpane whereby the groove section and the rail section are connected with each other as one-piece. An independent claim is also included for the vehicle door.
