The device has a sensor device (2) placed adjacent to a vehicle body shell (1) for measuring force or deformation that is caused by a collision of an object e.g. pedestrian, on the vehicle. The sensor device is fastened to the shell by using a clip connection (5). The clip connection is designed as a bracket by a pair of opposite claws (6, 7), which are connected with the shell in a force-fit manner, where the claws include a recess. An independent claim is also included for method of manufacturing a device for detecting a collision of an object on a vehicle.
