The damping element (1) has a two-piece housing (3), whereby both the housing parts are arranged one above the other with an interface (6) between the housing parts. The media exchange between the two housing parts is permitted by the passages (7,8) in the interface. The lower housing part (4) is filled with liquid medium (2) and the upper housing part (5) has a tappet (10). An adjustable component strikes the tappet on the end side whereby the tappet is adjustable along the upper housing part. According to the inclination of the damping element, an appropriate quantity of medium flows from lower housing part to the upper housing part. The medium is displaced back into the lower housing part by the striking motion of the relocatable tappet, which is so curbed that it can not be bent.
