In a tooth covering (6) of fabric, for application ot the toothed surface of a toothed belt (10), the fabric is a blend fabric based on polyamide, in which at least some of the weft threads in the peripheral or longitudinal direction of the belt are replaced by PTFE threads or modified with PTFE. Independent claims are included for: (1) a toothed belt provided with the tooth covering; and (2) the use of a fabric as above for covering the toothed surface of a toothed belt.
