The brake disk (10) is made of a gray cast iron blank provided with all spaces bores and other connection features in a first step using the appropriate processing methods. The axial ring surfaces are made to measure on a lathe simultaneously removing the casting scale. The surfaces (18) can additionally be sandblasted in order to provided a sufficiently coarse base (12). The alloy coating (14) is applied by plasma spraying and the disk (10) heated for the melting process. Irregularities on the surfaces (18) can be removed by face grinding.
