The sensor has sensor resistances consisting of strip sections (5) of magnetoresistive materials with the gigantic magnetoresistive effect or the anisotropic magnetoresistive effect. Essentially coincident values of the resistance determining angle exist for each displacement between the sensor and the magnetic field along the measurement direction to maximize the signal amplitude of the sensor in all strip sections electrically connected together to form a sensor resistance.
