The device (1) is arranged near the coating or varnishing module (3) or drying module (5,6) used in the production of an optical recording medium for thermally decoupling the varnishing module. A module partition (10) is arranged between the varnishing and drying modules. The device includes a first plate-shaped component made of thermally conductive material preferably copper, and a passage for ensuring the flow of a temperature-adjusting medium. A second plate-shaped component, made of plastics, is connected to the first plate-shaped component for additional stability.
