In a surface finishing process for automotive high-class wooden interior trim with a complex surface, the highly polished trim component is lowered onto a matching profile bearing a quantity of the transparent substance in question e.g. in semi-liquid lacquer applied by spray, powder paint applied by an electrostatic process, polyester or polyethylene paint, pre-cured plastic.
