Suppression of interference in signals detected by optical sensors by shifting the receiver detection time window if interference is repeatedly detected within such a time window

Method for suppressing faults in optical sensors that each comprise a transmitter (1a), a receiver (3a) and a detector. The transmitter light source emits light pulses of given duration and frequency, while the receiver is synchronized with it. The receiver thus evaluates detector signals within a time window corresponding to the transmission pauses. The transmitter changes the transmission duration period after the receiver device has detected a number of sequential fault signals within such a time window. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for implementing the inventive method.
