The holder has supporting units (2, 3, 4, 5) flexibly movable in a radial direction with respect to a drinking vessel that is to be held. The units have sliding surfaces (8) made up of a non elastic material with low adhesion and sliding friction coefficient. The surfaces are made up of a hard plastic or polished metal film. The units have compensating units to effect a radial flexibility of the surface with respect to the vessel.
