The method involves providing a set of global bandwidth limiter (GBL) classes. One of the GBL classes is selected based on the priority of a task. A system GBL class is selected based on the highest GBL class. A bandwidth limiter of a direct memory access (DMA) unit (121) is assigned according to the system GBL class and the priority of another task if the DMA unit is activated by the latter task. A cycle between DMA and micro-controller unit (MCU) buses is determined according to the bandwidth limiter. The bandwidth limiter of a device is reset according to the priority of the latter task. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a task management system comprising a device providing a task (2) a device comprising a unit for providing a set of global bandwidth limiter classes (3) a machine-readable storage medium comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for managing a task.
