A line has a cooling unit (11) with an exhaust gas guiding pipe (20) and an outer cooling medium guiding pipe (40). The cooling medium guiding pipe is provided with openings for intake and discharge of a cooling medium. The exhaust gas guiding pipe has a linearly running pipe section that is formed of a wavelike pipe. An intermediate space extends over the length of the linearly running pipe section with the wavelike pipe. The outer cooling medium guiding pipe surrounds the wavelike pipe.
