The exhaust gas recirculation device (1) has an exhaust gas-recirculation pipe (2) which is connected to an exhaust pipe (3) for supplying the exhaust gas to a suction pipe (4) from the exhaust pipe. A humidifier (6) is arranged in the exhaust gas-recirculation pipe for guiding the exhaust gas through the humidifier which comprises a closed container (7) filled with a liquid. The exhaust gas-recirculation pipe has two line sections (2a,2b). An independent claim is included for a method for exhaust gas recirculation for an exhaust pipe at a suction pipe in an internal combustion engine.
