The rear seat arrangement for motor vehicles with at least one seat wider than another, has the wider seat (1) divided into a wide section (1.1) and a narrow section (1.2). The seat back portion and seat section portion of the narrow section are independently liftable and movable on the wide section, and by separate lifting and subsequent transverse movement can be brought from a three-seater configuration to convert into a two-seater with overlap with the seat back portion and seat section portion of the wide section, whereby the wider (1) and narrower seats (2) slide into each other.
