The method involves selection of two different scanning positions to begin the examination of an object. Contrast unit measurements are executed based on the respective recorded projections of the scanning positions. The contrast unit measurements are repeated upto respective time points at which the contrast medium is detected. The operating parameters of the x-ray unit are determined by evaluation of the determined time points.
