Brake-disc has annular friction surface (1), which is provided on outer faces of disc and to which a brake pad can be applied for braking purposes. Friction surface consists of a large number of sub-segments (2,3,4,6), some of which are physically separated from one another by expansion joints (5). Depth of the expansion joints is greater than the permissible rate of wear (8) of friction surface. An independent claim is also included for the method for the production of brake-disc.
