The box body (10) especially for commercial vehicles includes a lifting wall (13) for which is provided a link (31) extending above the load space. The link is freely pivotable around a first pivot (32) of a first joint (34) fixed on one its ends in the roof region, and around a second pivot (35) of a second joint (41) installed on the other end and connected to the lifting wall in the region of its upper end (38) in the closed position. The respective pivots of the first and second joints are separated by a space which corresponds approximately to half the height (44) of the lifting wall.
