The retaining element has two profile parts (4,4') which have curved retaining shank (5,5') and a fixing shank (6,6'). The profile parts have a ligament connected to the retaining shank with the fixing shank in the area of longitudinal axis and a slot (8) following in the longitudinal direction on the ligament. In that the rod (7) of other profile part is interposed, so that the profile parts are cross connected. The curved retaining shank of the profile parts working together to form a retaining clamp (9) with a retaining area for a part which is to be held.
