A roof for a conservatory or sun terrace has a sloping profile with water outlets (10) along the raised top edge to provide a film of water covering the roof. This has the effect of cooling the space under the roof as well as enhancing the UV filtering. The water outlets can be incorporated into the upper roof beam and the water can be taken from a rain water butt in a closed cycle, with integral filter to remove impurities which could block the outlets. For added effect non toxic colouring can be added for sun shade.
