Foldaway animal food barrier (1) comprises a cable pull having a pulling arm (3) joined to the cable pull on its rear end and hinged with the barrier plate above a support arm (2). The barrier has a hinged diagonal connection (4) having a rear end hinged with the pulling arm. An obstructing body arranged on the support arm protrudes into the surface of the diagonal connection so that when the cable pull is raised the obstructing body moves away from a locking bolt on the front end of the diagonal connection from a lower indentation (7a) of a longitudinal hole (7) running from above to below in an angle profile fixed to the barrier plate. Preferred Features: An indentation is formed in the rear edge of the diagonal connection and has a lower side pressed against the obstructing body.
