The drum has a drum body (2) that is arranged as a hollow body. A tensed skin (3) is retained in a skin ring (4) over an edge of an opening of the drum body. The skin ring surrounds the drum body under retention of skin tension and is fastened directly at the drum body. The drum body has cylindrical inner and outer surfaces and both ends of the drum body are made from wood, where the ring is moved toward an open end of the body.
