The transport car (10) has framework (14) with grippers (34) which have grip arms (38) for holding the cargo (12). The grip arms are tiltably arranged around a grip axis in rest position parallel to wheel axis. The grippers are connected to rotatable device (50) which enables swiveling of grippers relative to the framework in standby position with grip axis which runs perpendicular to wheel axis (22).
