Machine for working metal profiles (36) has a profile transporting section (12) with a gripper arm (48) connected to a carriage (44) which can be moved parallel to the longitudinal axis (80) of the profile. A slide (46) mounted on the carriage can be moved to adjust the position of the gripper using a dedicated drive (72). An independent claim is included for a method for working metal profiles using the machine.
