The vehicle has roof frames (2) with sliding roof cover (3). When the roof is open, frames and cover are lowered into a container. The vehicle roof (1) has an adjustable rear window (7), which is positioned between the roof frames when the roof is closed, and is lowered upright into the container when the roof is open, where it forms an end wall for the roof cover. The cover consists of individual plates (4,5,6). The roof frames are connected pivoted to the vehicle body via a joint (10). The roof cover may be of fabric.
