The fuse unit prevents mechanical interference with safety relevant components. An electronic circuit inside the fuse unit recognises a short circuit between two conductors or a break in a conductive path and triggers an alarm. The fuse unit is formed in one piece and conductive tracks are not provided on the outside of the fuse unit, but only on the inside and the edges. The conductive tracks are connected to a circuit board via contacts on the edge of the fuse unit. An attempt to remove the fuse unit from the circuit board causes a break or interruption in at least one contact between the fuse unit and the circuit board.
