Method and system for combating the diffusion illegal of works protected in a network of transmission of data

The method involves activating user terminals simulated based on different protocols of a peer-to-peer network by protection platforms (10), over a data transmission network (1). Files shared in the network by user terminals (9) are searched by one simulated terminal and the file content to be protected is partially reproduced. Characteristics of the searched file and identification information of the user sharing the file are obtained. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a system for protecting files illegally transmitted in the digital data transmission networks.
