Preparing a composition (A1) comprising hydraulic binder (I) and silica fumes (II), comprises dry mixing a mixture comprising (I), (II) and polymer (III) obtained by copolymerization of a first monomer (A), a second monomer (B) constituted by acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and their salts with a monovalent or divalent metal of ammonium or an organic amine and optionally a third monomer (C); and optionally partially neutralizing the copolymer. Preparing a composition (A1) comprising hydraulic binder (I) and silica fumes (II), comprises dry mixing of a mixture comprising (I), (II) in condensed form and a polymer (III) obtained by copolymerization of at least a first monomer (A) of formula (CH2=C(R1)-C(=O)-O-(R2O)n)-R3), a second monomer (B) constituted by acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and their salts with a monovalent or divalent metal of ammonium or an organic amine and optionally at least third monomer (C) copolymerizable with the monomers (A) and (B) and optionally partially neutralizing the copolymer by an alkaline substance. R1H or CH3; R22-4C alkylene; R3H or 1-5C alkyl; and n : 1-100. Independent claims are also included for: (1) composition comprising (I) and (II) obtained by the process; and (2) use of a copolymer as an agent for dispersion of (II) in condensed form during the preparation of (A1) of concrete or mortar incorporating (II) initially introduced in densified form.
