Positive liquid electrochemical generator has a metal anode and a carbon aerogel cathode with a total porosity of 70 - 95 per cent by volume, and a macroporosity and mesoporosity that together represent 70 - 90 per cent of its total volume. The specific surface area of the pores greater than 2nm in size is between 30 and 100 sq m/g. The generator's anode is of lithium, and the positive liquid is SOCl 2or dissolved SO 2.
