A method of sterilization treatment of food products packaged in flexible or rigid packages in which the packages are continuously transported during the various phases of treatment for a given time during which the containers are subjected to rotation during all or part of their transport in order to induce stirring and thus increase the transfer of heat to the interior of the packages and an installation for implementing it. With reference to Figures 2 and 3, the packages (1) are fastened directly or indirectly to a fixed zone (2) during their transport to ensure their rotation. The rotation is induced either magnetically (6) or mechanically by stop blocks (3) fastened to the fixed zone (2) and stop blocks fastened to the containers (4) which interact. The containers are drawn by magnetism along the fixed zone. The containers are fixed by means (8) during their ascent and descent and they are guided by a lateral rail (9).
