The method involves periodically acquiring traffic information contained on a web server (1) of a traffic information center, in the form of text data, formatting the data, and encoding the formatted data. The encoded data is wirelessly transmitted in a periodic manner. The broadcast data is received and decoded. The decoded data is displayed by a traffic information display panel (5) in textual and/or graphical form. The traffic information can be any type of information on the disturbances on network lines or events suitable for affecting the state of the traffic such as closing of stations, railway stations and/or network lines, breakdowns, accidents of travelers, RATP or SNCF works, social movements, or events around stations. An independent claim is also included for a device to broadcast traffic information concerning a transport network to implement a traffic information broadcasting method.
