The component has a traction cylinder (2) guiding a printed material band and disposed between respective side walls (SI, SII). An overrunning clutch (16) has blocking teeth to block a reverse rotation of the traction cylinder, which are carried by an anti-friction bearing (15). A driving connection (17) connects a shaft of the traction cylinder to an electric motor. An independent claim is also included for a folding apparatus comprising a traction component for a printed material band.
