The method involves determining a set point value of a pressure in upstream of a turbine (8) of a turbocompressor (6). The set point value is determined by measuring differential pressure at terminals of a particle filter (20). A difference between the determined set point and a measured pressure in downstream of the turbine is determined, and a derivative of the difference is determined. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle engine comprising a turbocompressor and a boost pressure control device.
