A medical implant consisting of a molybdenum substrate coated with a layer of titanium. The implant has a 1mm thick molybdenum substrate with roughnesses on its lateral surface and has the following mechanical properties: Vickers hardness 310.10-2 Pa; Young's modulus 34.1010; Poisson coefficient ~g 0.305. The surface of the substrate is cleansed with orthophosphoric acid, rinsed several times with distilled water and then cleaned by ultrasound in an alcohol bath. The implant with a titanium coating less than 1 micron has the following mechanical properties: Vickers hardness 230.10- 2 Pa; Young's modulus 10.98.1010; Poisson coefficient 0.31. It is disclosed that the titanium coating is applied by radio frequency cathodic magnetron spraying.
