The reactor, consisting of a base (1) with one or more cavities to receive a holder such as a test tube or small flask, and a condenser block (2), has a hinged lid (3) with a pressure applicator (35, 36) and a system for fastening the lid to the base when a pressure is applied inside the reactor. The fastening system comprises a threaded rod (33) connected to the reactor base by a pivot, and a hand nut (34) to apply a tension to the lid when the rod is located in slots (25, 37) in the base, condenser and lid.
