The tray has a movable unit constituting an armrest that is articulated with respect to a fixed unit constituting a container (3), by a hinge (12). The armrest and the container are connected by an opening assistance spring and by a retarder (5). The retarder opposes action of the spring during opening of the armrest. The retarder is placed inside the armrest in longitudinal direction and is maintained in place by a fixing unit (10).
