The board has an outer housing which is formed of two semi-shells (12a, 12b) that forms a sandwich type laminated structure. An alveolar type material layer (24) forms the skin of the laminated structure. The layer has a surface which interfaces with composite material layers (26, 28). The layer (24) has an engraving (30) which has depth less than the thickness of the material layer (24). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sliding board.
