The method involves measuring power, emitted by a wireless telephone, during a time division multiple access (TDMA) frame that is dedicated to a control channel. A measurement report message is extracted, which is addressed to a base station of a current cell during the TDMA frame. The presence of the message is informed, where the message is emitted by the wireless telephone in an active reception state.
