The device has a processing unit (8), connected to conducting measurement electrodes (4, 5, 6, 7), to determine the presence or absence of hand of an operator on a control handle from electric signals coming from the electrodes. The electrodes are formed partially in the form of coating to be applied on an inner wall of a part of half-shells (9, 10) of the handle, where the coating shape is complementary to that of the wall after application. An independent claim is also included for a control handle comprising an operator hand presence detecting device.
