The sub-assembly has a defrosting grid (32) projected towards front, where grid is articulated on the sub-assembly of a dashboard (19) around an axis parallel to a transversal direction of a vehicle between usage and mounting configuration in which grid does not have dimensions greater than the opening. The usage configuration corresponds to dimension of grid greater than dimensions of opening of front door. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling of a dashboard subassembly.
