The article, especially for use in the kitchen to heat food, consists of a support (1) with at least part of its base covered by a multi-layer coating (2') compatible with induction heating and including a layer (7) containing ferromagnetic compounds and an enamel layer (4). In between the ferromagnetic and enamel layers it has a layer of aluminum (8) to give enhanced enamel adhesion, and the enamel layer is coated with a second layer of enamel (5) containing glass and/or stainless steel balls (6). The inner surface of the support has a non-stick coating (9).
