The device has a braking device (4) which acts on lateral discs of a rear roller (6). The device (4) is controlled by tilting a swing bar (2), from a free wheel position towards a horizontal maximum braking position. The swing bar supports sports shoe (8) which is fixed to the tow bar in a definitive manner. The device (4) is controlled by utilizing springs for limiting the braking force.
