The head restraint has two side lobes projecting from a frontal side (7) of the head restraint towards the front of a vehicle to partially envelope ears (4) of a seat occupant to protect the ears from air swirling zones produced in proximity to the head restraint when the vehicle is displaced. The fabric (1a) enveloping body of the head restraint is made of air permeable material. An internal lining of the head restraint is made of air permeable porous material.
