A cylinder (1) has a hollow body (2) defining an interior volume intended to contain a gas. The body has an upper part (2a) having a reduced internal volume permitting the storage of 3 kg of gas in a same flow and pressure condition as that in a standard 6 kg gas cylinder. The part has a connection unit (4) to open the container and delivery the gas to a user apparatus. A reduced storage compartment integrated with a support provides an overall encumbrance identical to standard cylinder.
