The burner has an injection device producing a gaseous mixture flow at high rate and injecting the flow in a burner head (2). The head has successively a pressure recovery chamber (10), an ignition chamber and a diffusion grill which is fixed in the head at a level of a junction of the chambers. An ignition vent emerges in a central orifice of the grill and extends axially in the chamber (10). The vent delimits an ignition chamber (43) equipped with starting electrodes (42) communicating the chamber (10) by a calibrated orifice (46). An ignition spark is produced between the electrodes.
