Tapping tee assembly with an integrated cutter and dual electrofusion elements

A tapping tee assembly for a plastics pipeline comprising: A saddle provided with a first saddle-shaped electrofusion element; a hollow body integral with the saddle and provided with an axial bore; a cutter disposed within the bore of the hollow body and adapted in use to traverse the bore, to make contact with the pipeline wall and to cut a hole therein; a spigot integral with the body and in fluid connection with the axial bore of the body; the spigot being provided with a tubular second electrofusion element or being adapted to receive a tubular electrofusion element therein or thereon; and circuit means for electrically connecting the first and second electrofusion elements integrated with the tapping tee assembly. The cutter may be a part of the circuit means for electrically connecting the two electrofusion elements, or the two elements may be in direct balanced connection, to give a simultaneous and identical heat output per area unit per time unit.
