METHOD OF TRUING GRINDING WHEEL AND GRINDING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of accurately truing a grinding wheel, while preventing excessive truing, and also to provide a grinding machine for realizing this truing method.;SOLUTION: In this method of truing a grinding wheel, a truer is brought into contact with the grinding wheel in such a state that the peripheral velocity of the grinding wheel is set lower than the peripheral velocity thereof when truing. A position of the truer in relation to the grinding wheel when an output value of an acoustic emission sensor (AE sensor) for outputting acoustic emission (AE) as a detecting signal, which is generated when the truer is brought in contact with the grinding wheel, reaches a threshold value, is set as a reference, and the predetermined truing is performed based on the reference.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
