PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly functional cellulosic material maximally retaining its mechanical strength, and to provide a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: The lightweight and high-strength functional cellulosic material high in functional particles content is obtained by the following process: Pulp and/or pretreated pulp (3-50 wt.%) and functional particles (50-97 wt.%) are mixed with each other and further kneaded and molded under pressure to effect microfibrillation of the pulp and/or pretreated pulp while taking in the functional particles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
