PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorbers each having a carbanilic acid ester structure, a dicarbamide acid ester structure, or a sulfonic acid ester structure, by chemically modifying an OH group at C1-position of 4-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)resorcinol or 4-(5-chloro-2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)resorcinol with each of several kinds of aromatic isocyanate, three kinds of diisocyanate, or several kinds of aromatic sulfonyl chloride; and to examine the effectiveness of the obtained product.;SOLUTION: The desired reaction is achieved by looking for a reaction catalyst, and regarding what is obtained, physical properties etc., were mainly investigated. Regarding the ultraviolet absorber having a dicarbamide acid diester structure, one having a wide absorption wavelength range in ultraviolet absorption is found out. Moreover, regarding the ultraviolet absorber having a sulfonic acid ester structure, one being almost satisfactory in many required physical properties, including economical efficiency in synthesis, is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
