PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external wall reforming structure which ensures both a venting layer and earthquake resistance while leaving an existing wall as it is, and to provide a method of constructing a reforming external wall.;SOLUTION: The external wall reforming structure is constructed by fixing at least two vertically extending metallic furring strips 10, 10 to the existing wall 60, extending diagonals 40, 40 between the metallic furring strips 10, 10, and setting a reforming external wall plate 30 on the outside of the metallic furring strips 10, 10. Each metallic furring strip 10 is formed of a substrate portion 11 fixed to the existing wall 60, a front plate portion 13 extending in parallel with the substrate portion 11 and allowing the external wall plate 30 to be fixed thereto, and a connection portion 12 connecting between the substrate portion 11 and the front plate portion 13. Part of the substrate portion 11 has an area where the front plate portion is not arranged on the opposite side thereof. Then the connection portion 12 of the metallic furring strip 10 has a plurality of slots 12a, 12a, etc., and the diagonals 40, 40 are fitted into the slots 12a via L-shaped angles, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
